E-commerce descriptions increase sales
I have a friend who has a beautiful website, with gorgeous pictures on it, but she gets little to no traffic on her website. Her social media is full of compliments and admirers for her product, but it doesn’t turn into website sales. Are you in the same situation?
It’s actually an easy fix, just add more words! Google is the ultimate search engine, and whatever it understands is what it serves up. Google doesn’t understand pictures!
Google takes all the words on a site, and compares it to what a person has previously looked for, and what they are searching for now. The more matching words, the higher the website ranks; the higher the rank the more clicks and the more clicks tells google they are on the right track.
Read that again, basically Google matches words, people click and that confirms to Google they are right, so they keep offering your website.
I want to show you another friends website, this is RBIA Shades. Customers know his website is easy to shop and google loves it too! See how there’s a lot of information to help the shopper know exactly what they are getting? Size, color, options and info about the company. Plus, on the back-end of each photo is a clear description telling google what each image represents.
Another thing Google loves are links because when your website connects (or links) to other websites this tells Google that you are a true, real-life, business and not a bot. See how there’s links to the return faq, shipping information and several more links?
Take the time to add more words to your website and you will rank higher in Google.
